Co-op Sci-Fi Horror CODE EXIT Secures Publisher, Targets 2027 Early Access

LINE Games has officially announced a publishing agreement with development studio Cresent for the upcoming PC co-op sci-fi horror title CODE EXIT. The agreement was signed on April 20, 2026, confirming LINE Games as the publisher for this four-player cooperative experience. According to the announcement, the game is currently targeting a 2027 release through an Early Access program on PC platforms. The developers also plan to release a playable demo in the future, with plans to incorporate player feedback into subsequent development phases.
CODE EXIT is set in the city of Pantheon, a futuristic metropolis that has fallen under the control of a rogue artificial intelligence system named Minerva. Players take on the roles of members of an investigation team called Hermes, tasked with infiltrating the compromised city to perform critical missions. These missions include system repair operations and data recovery tasks, all while navigating the dangers of an AI-controlled environment. The game blends sci-fi elements with horror themes, creating a tense atmosphere for cooperative play.

The game is designed around cooperative gameplay as its central feature, supporting up to four players working together. Players will often need to operate separately while sharing vital information to progress through missions. The developers have implemented numerous tasks that require coordinated teamwork and collaboration to complete successfully. This design philosophy emphasizes communication and strategic planning among team members, with players needing to work in unison to overcome the challenges presented by the hostile AI-controlled environment.

One of the notable technical features of CODE EXIT is its enemy artificial intelligence system. Opponents in the game are equipped with pattern-learning AI that adapts and evolves based on player actions and strategies. This means enemy tactics will change and develop throughout gameplay sessions, requiring players to constantly adjust their approaches. The adaptive AI system aims to create dynamic and challenging encounters that remain fresh across multiple playthroughs. With its cooperative focus and intelligent enemy design, CODE EXIT appears to be targeting players who enjoy tactical team-based horror experiences when it arrives in Early Access next year.
