Star Wars: Old Republic Destiny Reveals All-Star Developer Team Lineup

Arcanaut Studios has revealed the full senior team behind the highly anticipated Star Wars: Old Republic Destiny, featuring several veterans who worked on the original Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) and the Mass Effect series. The announcement came during the closing days of Star Wars Day celebrations on May 4th, giving fans a clearer picture of the development team behind this new single-player RPG. First unveiled at The Game Awards 2025, the title is set in the Old Republic era and is considered a spiritual successor to the classic KOTOR series.
The newly disclosed senior staff includes Senior Technical Designer Dan Fesenden, External Development Director Melanie Faulkner, Art Director Pascal Blanchet, Production and Performance Director Caroline Livingstone, and CTO Ryan Hoyler. Notably, Fesenden, Livingstone, and Hoyler all worked on the original KOTOR and contributed significantly to the Mass Effect trilogy. Faulkner and Livingstone also have experience with the Dragon Age series, while Livingstone additionally worked on Neverwinter Nights. The team is led by former BioWare veteran Casey Hudson, who served as director on both KOTOR and Mass Effect.

In a LinkedIn post shared on Star Wars Day, Hudson provided insight into how the team came together. “Our team members come from different development backgrounds. Some have been building KOTOR with me since 2003 and participated in creating the entire Mass Effect trilogy,” Hudson wrote. “Others have worked on industry-changing projects at companies including Microsoft, BioWare, Epic Games, Ubisoft, and EA.” He emphasized the team’s shared goal: “We are united in our desire to fully immerse ourselves in the Star Wars universe, return to this beloved galaxy, and begin a brand new adventure.”

As for when players can expect to experience Star Wars: Old Republic Destiny, no specific release date or even release window has been announced. However, Hudson has previously confirmed that the game will launch before 2030, meaning players can expect to get their hands on it before the next decade arrives. The game is planned for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5 platforms. With original KOTOR creators back at the helm, this project is one to watch for fans of classic Star Wars RPGs.
