Nintendo Indie World Showcase Airs Tonight at 10 PM Beijing Time

Nintendo has officially confirmed that a new Indie World showcase will air on October 28 at 22:00 Beijing time. Unlike the general Nintendo Direct format that some had expected, this presentation will focus specifically on indie titles headed to Switch and Switch 2, with a runtime of roughly 25 minutes. The announcement sets up a compact, software-focused broadcast rather than a broad showcase covering the company’s full lineup for the coming months.
French outlet Gameblog has compiled a list of titles fans expect to appear. It includes a further look at “Sea of Sorrow,” the large free expansion for Hollow Knight: Silksong, a release date announcement for Witchbrook, and the potential appearance of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Only the first two items have any timing attached, and neither has a firm date yet, leaving room for tonight’s broadcast to deliver concrete news.

“Sea of Sorrow” has already been confirmed for a 2026 launch and is described as adding nautical-themed regions, new bosses, and new tools. Witchbrook, following its delay, is listed across platform information as a 2026 release, but a specific date has remained unannounced. According to the report, firm windows for these two projects tonight would directly answer the most pressing waits for indie audiences in the year-end period.
Nintendo’s decision to hold an indie-focused showcase rather than a general Direct is framed as a strategic exercise in restraint. GTA 6 arrives on November 19, and industry attention is expected to be heavily pulled toward it in the following weeks. Ahead of that, a tight, content-dense 25-minute broadcast keeps Switch and Switch 2 in the conversation. It is a sensible bit of scheduling on Nintendo’s part — small in scale, but well placed.
