Konami Unveils Brand-New RPG Rev. NOiR Coming 2027 on PS5, Xbox, PC
Konami Digital Entertainment unveiled its brand-new RPG Rev. NOiR (レヴ・ノワール) during the official KONAMI PRESS START broadcast on September 4, 2026, with producer Nobuki Kadoi walking viewers through the project’s world, story, characters, and battle system. The title is planned for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. A second trailer and a story trailer were released alongside the announcement, with the latter depicting the journey of protagonist Ash and his companions as they seek to end the calamity known as the “Rain of Light.” Wishlist registration for the game is currently open.
Since ancient times, a floating “Great Astrolabe” has granted people their “Star Destinies” and brought peace to the world, but a new calamity is approaching — the “Rain of Light,” a disaster that claims the lives of anyone it touches, heralding the onset of the “Light Rain Season.” In a certain village, the young man Ash encounters Fine and her guardian Diana. Guided by his own star destiny — “save many people” — Ash joins Fine in hunting down the aberrant beings known as “Divine Engines” that bring the rain, stepping onto a journey that will reshape the world. The story tagline reads: “With justice, the world breaks apart.”

The announcement also revealed the game’s voice cast. Takeo Otsuka plays Ash, a taciturn young man who accompanies Fine on her rain-stopping journey after meeting her and grows by searching for his own beliefs and path. Kana Ichinose voices heroine Fine, a lively, curious cleric who wields the Rainbow Star Arts to halt the Light Rain and harbors a strong longing for the unseen outside world. Fine’s party also includes Diana, a Star Arts squad member of the Holy Capital Guard who deeply respects her and serves as her guard, along with a gunner from the Lizvia vigilante corps who acts as the group’s guide.

Battle in Rev. NOiR combines fluid action — normal attacks, Arts attacks, and counters launched from perfectly timed dodges — with the support action “Star Sign Command.” As the journey unfolds, players inherit “Light Cores” from people they meet, unlocking new abilities that broaden the ways they can fight. The second trailer’s gameplay footage highlights this strategic action, showing how a player’s choices and judgment can shift the course of combat. Rev. NOiR is a single-player RPG slated for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with pricing and its CERO rating still to be determined. With its cinematic trailers and layered combat, this is definitely one of Konami’s more intriguing reveals to watch in the coming months.
