FELISSIMO Twelve Kingdoms Merch Pre-Orders Open Until October 5
FELISSIMO, the Japanese direct-sales company known for apparel and lifestyle goods, has opened web reservations for a seven-piece special collaboration lineup based on Fuyumi Ono’s fantasy novel series The Twelve Kingdoms (十二国記). Orders launched on September 2, and since every product is made to order, purchases close at 23:59 JST on October 5, 2026. Inspired by the Kei and Tai kingdom stories of the otherworldly Twelve Kingdoms, the collection turns iconic scenes and objects from the novels, which have been published since 1991, into everyday items. Each product is an exclusive FELISSIMO original available only through this project, and artwork by illustrator Akihiro Yamada features throughout. Item prices range from ¥1,600 to ¥8,800 (approximately $11-$61, or about CN¥80-CN¥430).
Products tied to Moon’s Shadow, Shadow’s Sea include a hand mirror modeled on Suigūtō, the Kei kingdom’s national treasure that reflects illusions and sees across a thousand li. The design incorporates the sword guard and blade motifs from Yamada’s novel illustrations, accented by a green cabochon evoking companion treasure Hekisōju, priced at ¥6,900 (tax-incl. ¥7,590, approx. $48). A large Banshu-ori scarf (¥8,500, tax-incl. ¥9,350, approx. $59) depicts popular rat half-beast Rakushun in deep crimson tones recalling Kei ruler Youko, using a Hyogo Prefecture weaving technique with more than 200 years of history. A canned peach-flavored tea (¥2,700, tax-incl. ¥2,970, approx. $19) recreates the “peach stew” Youko eats after being rescued by Rakushun, with the blend finalized after a tasting by author Fuyumi Ono.

From Wind’s Sea, Labyrinth’s Shore come goods tied to Taiki, the black kirin of the Tai kingdom. A double-gauze roomwear set (¥8,800, tax-incl. ¥9,680, approx. $61) recreates the loose robes of young Taiki with a relaxed silhouette and China-style buttons. A chubby deformed plush of Taiki in his first transformed form (¥4,300, tax-incl. ¥4,730, approx. $30) uses silver fur for his short mane, holographic print for his back, and pearl-toned fabric for his small horn. A mini mascot set (¥3,900, tax-incl. ¥4,290, approx. $27) debuts the first deformed designs of Taiki’s shirei companions Shikotsu and Jakko, newly drawn by Yamada for this project. Agate-image candies (¥1,600, tax-incl. ¥1,760, approx. $11), a favorite of riding beast Zouu, were crafted with Kyoto’s long-established Daimonji Ame Honpo in fig, sakura, and kumquat flavors approved by Ono and Yamada.

During the reservation period, FELISSIMO’s official messaging service is running a campaign in which participants who send weekly keywords receive five collaboration-exclusive wallpapers, distributed in weekly batches from September 2 through October 5; the keywords are posted on the dedicated collaboration website. Separately, an original art exhibition by Akihiro Yamada commemorating the September 17 release of new novel Yūmei no Kishi runs September 23 to October 6 at Maruzen Marunouchi’s 4F Gallery B in Tokyo, where the goods will be displayed (viewing only, no on-site sales), open daily 9:00-21:00 with early closures on September 29 and the final day. Since merchandise pre-orders close October 5, one day before the exhibition ends, interested fans should place orders promptly. For longtime readers, this author-approved, made-to-order lineup feels like a fitting tribute to a beloved series.
