EWC 2026 China Fan Party Launches With Multi-City Tour and Wuhan Carnival
The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 is underway in Paris, France from July 6 to August 23, but Chinese fans are getting their own celebration through the EWC26 China Fan Party series. Co-organized by Tencent Esports and EWC, this multi-city touring event spans the entire summer break, covering July and August. The initiative brings the excitement of the global esports tournament to Chinese audiences through three main formats: a major carnival in Wuhan, viewing parties across multiple cities, and esports cafe tournaments at 40 locations nationwide.
On July 18-19, the EWC26 China Super Esports Carnival will take place at Xian’anfang in Wuhan. The two-day event features celebrity player exhibition matches during the day featuring popular esports figures including Crisp, Baolan, and LWX, alongside cosplay performances by Shi Menglu and Xiao Yueyue. Evening activities shift to League of Legends viewing parties for the EWC semifinals, finals, and third-place matches, with live broadcasts on large screens. The event also includes an EWC trophy display, a polaroid photo exhibition featuring a hundred pro players’ signatures, and a “Golden Rain” photo station recreating championship celebration scenes.
Seven major game titles will have dedicated interactive zones at the carnival: League of Legends, Game for Peace (Peacekeeper Elite), Valorant, CrossFire, PUBG, Overwatch, and Teamfight Tactics. These zones offer hands-on gameplay experiences spanning FPS, MOBA, strategy, and battle royale genres, with opportunities to win exclusive merchandise. Additionally, seven esports clubs that qualified through the club partnership program will set up their own fan zones, allowing attendees to connect with their favorite teams, experience team culture, and earn exclusive limited-edition merchandise through on-site activities.
Beyond the Wuhan carnival, EWC26 viewing parties are rolling out across multiple Chinese cities. The first stop in Changsha on July 4-5 featured a Valorant viewing party at the historic Huogongdian venue. Nanjing will host Teamfight Tactics and PUBG viewing events next, while August will bring more activities for Honor of Kings, Game for Peace, and CrossFire tournaments. Meanwhile, 40 esports cafes nationwide are hosting competitive tournaments in League of Legends and Valorant, featuring a three-tier format from store qualifiers to regional finals, with winning teams earning Tencent Esports qualification slots for national competitions. This comprehensive approach ensures fans across China can participate in the EWC festivities near their homes.
